Want to become better informed about zoning cases, text changes, annexation petitions, or comprehensive plan amendments? Ask a Planner. On Tuesday, February 5 before the public hearing, city planners will be available to provide information about public hearing items. The case planners will be in room 237 of the Raleigh Municipal Building from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with detailed information about the evening’s cases. The cases being heard at the January 8 evening session are:
Z-20-18: 8308 Falls of Neuse Road, on the southern side of Falls of Neuse Rd roughly midway between its interchange with I-540 and its intersection with Strickland Road, behind The Piper’s Restaurant & Tavern, being Wake County PIN 1718206671. Approximately 0.37 acres are requested by Christopher Hurley to be rezoned. Current zoning: Residential-4 (R-4). Requested zoning: Neighborhood Mixed Use-3 stories-Conditional Use-Parking Limited (NX-3-CU-PL).
CP-5-18 is a request to amend the Street Plan Map (Map T-1) of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. The proposal requests to extend Fayetteville Street's Main Street, Parallel Parking street plan classification south by approximately 210 feet from Lenoir Street to South Street, through the city owned property located at 10 West South Street.
TC-3-17: Accessory Dwelling Unit Overlay. This is a text change that would create a new zoning overlay district for accessory dwelling units. The overlay district could be applied to areas ten acres in size and larger. Both attached and detached accessory dwelling units would be permitted.
