Project Highlights in October

brentwood final

Here's what you need to know about City of Raleigh stormwater projects this month:

Brentwood Today Stream Stabilization
This project is complete (for the most part)! The contractor is working on final items before the project can be closed out. Also, planting along the stream will take place this winter. Plants will begin to grow in warmer months. It will take a year for the plants to be fully grown.

Laurel Hills Road Dam Rehabilitation
Construction for this project is underway. The contractor is working on a plan to address unexpected soil conditions in the project area. This has slightly extended the construction schedule.

Clark Avenue Culvert Replacement
This week, the construction contractor will replace the stormwater pipe that runs underneath the road. Construction is on schedule to be done in November.

Ramblewood Drive Drainage Improvements
The construction bid for this project is underway and should take about four months to complete. Construction will begin in early 2019 after Raleigh City Council has approved the construction bid and all construction documents are finalized.

Lake Wheeler Road Culvert Repair
This project is in the planning stages and will repair the sinkhole and stormwater pipe that runs underneath Lake Wheeler Road between Centennial Parkway and Maywood Avenue. Materials for the new pipe are expected to take four to six weeks to manufacture.

Sierra Drive Stormwater System Improvements
The final design for this project will be finished in the spring. The consultant, HDR, Inc., is collecting additional information to identify flooding that may be impacting some properties in the neighborhood.
