Patrick Dougherty, a North Carolina native, began combining his carpentry skills with his love of nature to create sculptures using tree saplings as construction material. He is now an internationally renowned sculptor that is known for this use of saplings to create monumental environmental works that have gained acclaim worldwide. He will discuss his sculpture in detail and its interplay with the public, reminiscing about the adventures he has had in his long career making art in public.
