BIOPHILIC DESIGN Making Raleigh a Healthy Habitat for Human Development

The majority of people live in cities. A growing body of research demonstrates the positive impact of nature on human functioning – the younger the person, the greater the impact. With this in mind, where can increases in biodiversity have the greatest human impact? How can communities be engaged in this critical mission? What models can we learn from?

Robin Moore, Professor of Landscape Architecture and co-founder/director of the Natural Learning Initiative (NLI), College of Design, N.C. State University.
