Raleigh to Conduct Two Citywide Passes to Collect Storm-Related Yard Waste Debris

The City of Raleigh will conduct two sweeps of the city to collect yard waste debris resulting from Hurricane Matthew. The first collection pass began Oct. 18 and the second pass starts Monday, Oct. 31.

Oct. 22 Dunn Road will be closed between Cokesbury Lane and River Bank Drive and Fall River Avenue will be closed between Cokesbury Lane and Catara Drive from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Oct. 22 Royal Forrest Drive will be closed between Wide River Drive and Cardington Lane from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Also, Hidden Waters Circle will be closed between Royal Forrest Drive and the second turn to Royal Forrest Drive.

Oct. 22 Traffic will be impacted near Dix Park from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a road race. A map of the course is online.

Oct. 22 Traffic will be impacted downtown for a parade between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. The parade route will head north on North State Street, turn right on Glascock Street, right on Delaney Drive, right on Milburnie Road, left on Hill Street, right on Boyer Street, and right on Tarboro Road.

Oct. 22 The following roads will be closed from 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for a road race:

  • Sunnybrook Road, north from Walnut Creek;
  • Participants will turn south on Walnut Creek Trail; and finish on Walnut Creek.

Oct. 26-Oct. 27 West Cabarrus Street will be closed between South Salisbury Street and Gale Street from 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 until 10 p.m. on Oct. 27.
