Environmental Awards Logo 2016  

The City of Raleigh is now accepting online nominations for its 2016 Environmental Awards. 

Deadline to submit nominations is FEBRUARY 12, 2016. 

The Environmental Advisory Board jury will select the winners, honored at a public reception and ceremony on April 21, 2016 at The Glenwood Club.

Sponsorship opportunities for the celebration are also available.

 

Environmental Awards categories:

  • RALEIGH ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP AWARD (RESA)
    Recognizing an individual or organization, demonstrates environmental leadership while recognizing the interconnected relationship between the environmental, economic, and equitable aspects of human society.

  • LEGACY
    Recognizing an individual or organization for a lifelong or long-term contribution to environmental stewardship.

  • YOUTH
    Recognizing young individuals, or groups working with young people, demonstrating environmental stewardship.

  • INDIVIDUAL
    Recognizing a person contributing to environmental stewardship through volunteer, conservation, leadership, community-building or innovative efforts.

  • BUSINESS
    Recognizing a business contributing to environmental stewardship through volunteer, conservation, leadership, community-building or innovative efforts.

  • ORGANIZATION
    Recognizing an organization contributing to environmental stewardship through volunteer, conservation, leadership, community-building or innovative efforts.

  • BUILT ENVIRONMENT
    Recognizing green design implementation within new or existing buildings promoting a positive ecological footprint.
  • REGIONAL
    Recognizing environmental stewardship affecting the greater Raleigh area, such as air quality, streams and watersheds, land, waste or other regional issues.

Other opportunities to enter:

To be eligible for consideration for the Environmental Awards, nominees must either be residents of or operate within the City of Raleigh or within the City’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) or its utility service area. Elected officials are not eligible while they are serving in public office.
