City of Raleigh to Convert to LED Streetlights; Project Begins Week of Sept. 28

The City of Raleigh has authorized Duke Energy Progress to replace approximately 30,000 conventional streetlights with energy-efficient and cost-saving light-emitting diode (LED) fixtures.

Capital City Bike Fest

Fayetteville Street - Friday, September 25 – Saturday, September 26 Event time: varies by day

Associated road closures: Fayetteville Street between Morgan and Lenoir and all cross streets (Hargett, Martin, and Davie) will be closed from 6pm on 9/24 until 4am on 9/27. Lenoir Street between Fayetteville and Wilmington will be closed from 11am on 9/25 until 4am on 9/27. Cabarrus Street between Salisbury and McDowell and Lenoir Street between McDowell and Dawson will be closed from 8am 9/26 until 7p 9/27.

La Fiesta del Pueblo

Fayetteville Street - Sunday, September 27, 12:00pm – 7:00pm

Associated road closures: Fayetteville Street between Morgan and Lenoir and all cross streets (Hargett, Martin, and Davie) will be closed from 4am on 9/27 until 1am on 9/28.

Live and Local Bluegrass

Hillsborough Street - Sunday, September 27, 12:00pm – 7:00pm

Associated road closures: Chamberlain Street between Hillsborough Street and Logan Court, and Logan Court between Hillsborough Street and Chamberlain Street, will be closed from 6:00am until 11:00pm. Compiegne Park will also be utilized during this event.

Wide Open Bluegrass

Fayetteville Street Event hours: 12pm - 11pm on Friday and Saturday Associated closures: Fayetteville from Morgan to Lenoir; the 00 blocks of Hargett, Davie, and Martin between Salisbury and Wilmington, Lenoir Street between Dawson and McDowell, and Cabarrus from McDowell to Salisbury will be closed from 6pm on Thursday 10/1 until 7am on Sunday 10/4. 

September 26 Buckhead Drive will be closed from Staghorn Lane to Tanbark Way from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

September 26 Traffic will be affected near the NC Highway Patrol training center from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. for a road race.

October 2 Wolfe Street will be closed between Parham Street and Blake Street from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.

October 3 E. Martin Street will be closed from S. Blount Street to S. Person Street from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
