Crabtree Pipeline Sewer Line Replacement to Close Portion of
Hodges Street until October 30
Beginning May 26, the City of Raleigh will close a portion of
Hodges Street to begin work on the much anticipated Crabtree Pipeline
construction project, one of the City’s Capital Improvement Projects.
 Governor, Mayor Sign Dix Agreement
Gov. Pat McCrory and Mayor
Nancy McFarlane on May 11 signed a purchase contract allowing the City of Raleigh
to acquire the Dorothea Dix site from the State of North Carolina.

Damien Graham Named Communications Director
Damien Graham has been named communications director for the
City of Raleigh, City Manager Ruffin Hall announced May 13.
Raleigh Gears Up For Bike Plan Update
To
address the City of Raleigh’s growing bicycle culture and commitment to
be a more bicycle-friendly community, the City’s Office of
Transportation Planning
is updating its 2009 Bicycle Plan.
 “State of the Print” Exhibition to Open at Block Gallery June 3
“State of the
Print,” an art exhibition sponsored by the Office of Raleigh Arts, will be on
display starting June 3 at the Raleigh Municipal Building.

The following roads will be closed from 5 a.m. on May 15 until 1 a.m. on
May 18: Fayetteville Street from Lenoir Street to Morgan Street, Davie
Street between S. Salisbury Street and S. Wilmington Street, Martin
Street between S. Salisbury Street and S. Wilmington Street, and Hargett
Street between S. Salisbury Street and S. Wilmington Street. Also, E.
Martin Street will be closed between S. Blount Street and S. Person
Street. Parham Street will be closed between E. Martin Street and Wolfe
Street.
May 16 One lane of Centennial Parkway between Oval Drive and Achievement Drive will be closed from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

A road race along Reedy Creek Trail may impact traffic from 10 a.m. to
noon. Runners will leave the North Carolina National Guard property onto
Gold Star Drive, turn left on Reedy Creek Road, and turn left on Reedy
Creek Trail. The runners will pass under Edwards Mill Road and continue
on the trail until just before South Turkey Creek Trail. The runners
will turn around and return via the same route.
May 16 Traffic near Leesville Road will be impacted from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. by a road race. A course map is available online.
May 16 West Cabarrus Street will be closed between S. Dawson Street and S. Harrington Street from 7 a.m. to 6 a.m. on May 17.
May 16 Traffic in Five Points will be affected by a road race from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. A course map is available online.
May 17 Traffic will be impacted near Baileywick Road from 8 a.m. to noon by a triathlon. The course maps are available online.
May 17 West Johnson Street will be close between N. West Street and Glenwood Avenue from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
May 30
The following streets will be closed from 5 a.m. until midnight:
Glenwood Avenue from Tucker Street to West Jones Street, Anwood Place
from North Boylan Avenue to Glenwood Avenue, West North Street from
North Boylan Avenue and North West Street, and West Lane Street between
North Boylan Avenue and North West Street.
May 30 Hudson Street will be closed between McCarthy Street and Carroll Drive from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
