Birding
February is a great time to get out and explore the world of birds. Whether you are a novice or experienced birder, we have something for you! The events below are held at Airlie Gardens. However, Smith Creek, Pages Creek and Hanover Pines Parks are ideal habitats for birding as well.

Birder

Bird Walk
Enjoy a stroll around the grounds without the crowds while we see what’s flying! While attending the bird walk, you will look for resident and migrating birds and learn basic birding skills. No experience is necessary and all are welcome. Binoculars are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Recommended for ages 12 and up. This program will be held on February 12th from 8:00am-9:30am. Register here: Bird Walk.

AccessibleBirding

Accessible Birding
Join our educators for a guided tram ride around the gardens to see some of our bird hotspots! This program is ideal for birders of any experience level who may not have the mobility to walk for extended periods of time, who can board and exit our tram. Terrain can be uneven at some stopping points. Chairs will be available for seating. Space is limited, pre-registration is required by clicking here: Accessible Birding.

WinterDuckProgram_2025

Winter Duck Program
Join our environmental educators to learn about the many duck species that frequent the garden in the Winter. Begin with an engaging presentation on duck species identification and their unique adaptations, followed by a guided walk through the garden to observe these incredible birds in their natural habitat. For more information and to register, click here: Winter Ducks.
