BioBlitzSeptember 2024

BioBlitz at Smith Creek Park

We are hosting our 3rd Annual BioBlitz! Last year, with your help, we gathered data on 718 species which helped inform science and conservation efforts in our area. Join us at Smith Creek Park on September 6th and 13th from 9:00am - 11:00am to learn how you can participate in this year's BioBlitz. All are welcome to this pop-up style program where people can come talk to our educators about the BioBlitz and also help document pollinators in our area! Learn more about pollinators and the BioBlitz here:  https://www.nrpa.org/our-work/Three-Pillars/conservation/parks4pollinators/

Art Explorers with Cameron Art Museum

Come out with your toddlers and preschoolers to the Airlie Oak Lawn and create art with us. Learn from our educators about butterflies, read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", and create artwork inspired by their lessons. Our friends from Cameron Art Museum will read us a book and teach the children a fun new craft. This event will take place on September 26th from 10:00am-11:00am. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. (Ages 2 and under are free.) Click here to register.
