North Carolina Arbor Day

Arbor Day in North Carolina will be celebrated on March 22nd. This is a great time to plant a tree or just get outside and spend some time in nature. In celebration of Arbor Day, the Alliance for Cape Fear Trees will be at Legion Stadium Pool giving out trees on Saturday, March 9th beginning at 12pm. Some of the trees being distributed are Crape Myrtle, White Oak and American Elm. If you are planning to come, you are encouraged to bring paper bags or containers for free mulch.

LongLeaf

This month, The Spotlight is on... Long Leaf Park

Centrally located at 314 Pine Grove Drive, Long Leaf Park is our busiest park. It is home to 4 little league baseball fields, a basketball court for ages 13 and up as well as one for children 12 and under. There is also a dog park with lights, a fitness obstacle course, an outdoor gym, inclusive playground for children ages 2 to 12, a splashpad (open daily May through September), 4 lighted tennis courts, a volleyball area and a 1.55 mile walking trail. Long Leaf also boasts a garden gazebo area which can be used for weddings.

When you are out and about, stop by and check out this awesome park. For more information, please visit our website: NHC Long Leaf Park.
