Join us Saturday, July 15th from 5PM-8PM at Airlie Gardens for a celebration of Families, Friends and everybody’s Favorite Goose Dog Reilly! Family Fun Night is a special after- hours event where both young and young at heart will enjoy an evening filled with:
Guests are welcome to bring chairs and blankets for picnicking on the lawn! Wagons and strollers are permitted. Admission Rates: $15/Carload (includes on-site parking and admission for everyone in one vehicle.) This event is a fundraiser with all benefits going towards the care of our goose dog, Reilly. Aqua Stretch Classes!
Echo Farms Park has several aqua stretch classes scheduled during the month of July. Cost is $3/class and all levels of fitness are welcome. Pre-registration is required as classes are likely to fill up. Click here to register

Butterfly Wonders
Join New Hanover County Parks and Gardens staff at the Pleasure Island Branch of the library for a butterfly adventure. Get an up-close look at some of our butterfly species native to SE North Carolina! An educator and butterfly house curator from Airlie Gardens will be bringing living specimens and talking about butterfly life cycles and adaptations. We will also discuss the importance of butterflies in the environment and how to support butterflies and other pollinators in your own yard! This FREE event will take place on July 13th from 2-3pm at the Pleasure Island Library. No pre-registration required.

Parks Updates
Northern Regional Park Construction has been completed for several months now on the new walking trail. Additional amenities at the park are pickle ball courts as well as a disc golf course.
River Road Pier The pier is scheduled to open in late July.
Hanover Pines Nature Park Work is progressing on this new park in the southern end of the county. We expect the park to open in mid October.
