North Carolina Arbor Day

Arbor Day is celebrated nationally on the last Friday of April, however, most states observe a state Arbor Day depending on the best times for planting trees in their state.  This year, NC Arbor Day will be celebrated on March 17.  Listed below are some things you can do to celebrate NC Arbor Day: 

  ~Plant a tree!
  ~Get outside and spend some time in nature.
  ~Give trees a clean place to grow by picking
     up litter. 
  ~Attend the following event:

Tree Giveaway at Hugh Morton Amphitheater
at Greenfield Lake
Saturday, March 4; 9am-12pm (or until trees run out)
The Alliance for Cape Fear Trees will be giving out over 300, 3-5 gallon container trees. More Info.

Tennis Clinics Listed below are several 4-week tennis clinics taking place  this month at Echo Farms Park. The clinics are $60 for each 4-week session. Participants must be 18 years of age. *These tennis clinics are being held by our partner- Greater Wilmington Tennis Association 3.0 Doubles Strategy Mar 6, 13, 20 & 27 / 9-10:00am. Register here. 3.5 Doubles Strategy Mar 6, 13, 20 & 27:  10am-11am. Register here. Trash Mob The next Trash Mob will take place on Saturday, March 11. We will park and meet at Parkwood Park . All supplies (trash bags, safety vests, gloves & trash pickers) will be provided.   * This event will be cancelled if it rains. *
