Come Bird With Us

If you're interested in trying out birding, February is a great time to start. As part of a global citizen science project, we will hold two birding events by participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count. Whether you count one bird or hundreds, participating is easy and fun for all ages!

Count with Us! Day 1
(Friday, Feb. 17th – Ages 12+)
Airlie Gardens: 8am - 10am
Join us as we take part in a global citizen science project initiated by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, National Audubon Society and Birds Canada to help scientists learn more about global bird populations before their annual migration. Program also includes a bird hike. Registration required. Cost: $9 Adults (ages 12+), $5 New Hanover County Residents or Military (with ID). Airlie members receive a 50% discount.

Count with Us! Day 2

Smith Creek Park: 9am-10:30

We will go on a bird hike and play bird bingo before submitting our data to the project! Registration required. Cost: FREE!

An exiting new exhibit is coming to Airlie Gardens soon! More information will be forthcoming.
