Volunteer Opportunity - Pinecone Posse
Is your business or organization looking for a fun, outdoor volunteer opportunity? Parks & Gardens is looking for groups to help us keep Long Leaf Park clean by picking up pinecones. We love our pine trees, but they leave a mess of pinecones which makes it difficult for our staff to mow the grass. This opportunity is available throughout the year and can last 2-4 hours, depending on how much time you have. We provide all the supplies. Contact jorich@nhcgov.com for more information or to sign up.

iNaturalist Walk at Pages Creek Park Preserve
With the iNaturalist app, users can record their nature observations, get help with identifications and access the observations of other users. In this program on November 18 from 10-11am, participants will learn how to use the app, and go on a guided walk to learn about and document the local flora and fauna in the preserve. Program is free and pre-registration is recommended at Parks.NHCgov.com.
