New Hanover County's Parks Resource Officer Program was recognized with an Achievement Award by the National Association of Counties (NACo) last month. The NACo Achievement Awards Program recognizes county government programs that help build, sustain and enhance healthy, safe and vibrant communities.
The Parks Resource Officer Program is a partnership between NHC Parks & Gardens and Sheriff's Office. The unit was created in July 2021, and consists of six officers who patrol our county parks facilities. They help keep our park visitors safe while building relationships with the community.
We are honored to receive this Achievement Award, and proud of our Parks Resource Officers and the awesome work they do! Click here to watch the Parks Resource Officer NACo Award video.
