Start the New Year Off with Parks & Gardens
Do your new year's resolutions include more exercise? New Hanover County's parks have exercise opportunities for all ages and skill levels to help you get started or continue on your fitness journey. And, they're FREE to use!
Our newest amenities at Long Leaf Park include a kids' basketball court with some old school playground games like hopscotch and four square.
|
For the adults (ages 13+), we've added a new basketball court and "ninja warrior"-style obstacle course featuring eight challenging elements including spiderwalk, unstable bridge and rope climb. Check out this video of the fitness course in action at Parks.NHCgov.com. The tennis courts also have new LED lighting.

Other exercise opportunities in the parks include walking trails, outdoor gyms, playgrounds, tennis courts and MORE! Learn all about the many different ways you can exercise and get in shape with us at Parks.NHCgov.com/ParkRx.
