 Food Truck Rodeo
Are you ready for a Food Truck Rodeo? Join the NHC Parks Conservancy on Sunday, October 31 from 12-5pm at Long Leaf Park for some good food and live music! There will be a variety of food and beverages, and Boba Funk will be there playing your favorite tunes! The event is free to attend - just bring money to purchase your food and beverages. Most trucks take cash and credit cards. All proceeds from this event benefit New Hanover County's parks. Learn more at NHCParksConservancy.org.
New Echo Farms Park Tennis Programs
Echo Farms has some NEW beginner tennis programs starting up this month!
Beginner Tennis for Seniors In this 4-week series, participants will learn the basics of tennis in a series designed for seniors age 55 and up. Classes will be held 10:30-11:30am at Echo Farms Park beginning Wednesday, October 20, and all equipment is provided. Participants must be available to attend all four sessions. Beginner Round Robins Round Robins are organized groups of players, predominantly doubles, that rotate players with different partners to create a more social environment. Sessions are grouped by skill level and this new group is just for beginners. The only requirement is that players know how to serve and keep score. This weekly program takes place Thursdays 6:30-8pm beginning October 21. Cost is just $3/person and pre-registration is required. Tree Walk
As part of the annual Fire in the Pines Festival, Parks & Gardens educators will host a guided Tree Walk at Smith Creek Park on Wednesday, October 6 from 3-4pm. Participants will learn all about the park’s native flora and fauna and how pine habitats thrive, while enjoying a beautiful walk around the park. Library Storytime & Crafts at Smith Creek Park
Join Mrs. Jamie from NHC Public Library at Smith Creek Park for stories, music and crafts on October 13 and 27 from 3:30-4pm:

Airlie Gardens Live Oak Sale
You can own a piece of history! Purchase a tree propagated from one of Airlie's Live Oaks, by Penderlea Farms, and support the Airlie Oak Fund which helps preserve and care for specimen trees throughout the gardens.
