Splashpad at Long Leaf Park Opens April 1st

April is here and it is officially splashpad season!  The splashpad at Long Leaf Park is scheduled to open on Thursday, April 1 and will be open daily 9am-sunset through October.  The splashpad has a water wheelchair available for use by children whose mobility devices cannot tolerate moisture.  Contact the parks office at (910) 798-7620 to arrange for wheelchair use.  Visit Parks.NHCgov.com to learn more about the splashpad and get some tips on how to keep the splashpad and our kids safe and healthy this season.

Plant an Azalea Week

The first week in April is Plant an Azalea Week. This week celebrates the importance of the azalea to our community and encourages residents to plant azaleas.  The Cape Fear Garden Club will kick off the week on Thursday, April 1 by planting more than 70 azaleas at Airlie Gardens.  You can help plant azaleas in New Hanover County's parks and gardens by donating to the Plant an Azalea program.  For every $15 donation, Parks & Gardens will plant an azalea and you will receive a beautiful greeting card to keep or give to a loved one.  More Information
