Battle Park Draft

We're making progress on Battle Park!  The design team has completed a draft concept layout for the new park using information gained from the public meeting and online survey.  This draft layout shows the locations for parking, dog park, play area, walking/biking trail, picnic shelter, and restrooms.  Additional features will be added as the design progresses.  Click here for a larger PDF version of the layout.  For more information and updates:  Parks.NHCgov.com/BattlePark

May is National Bike Month

National Bike Month was established in 1956 to showcase the many benefits of bicycling.  Riding a bike is a great way to help you stay physically and mentally healthy, whether you’re riding for fun, or taking essential trips to work or shop. Biking may look a little different at this time due to COVID-19 and social distancing, but you can help keep yourself and others safe and healthy by following these simple tips:

  1. Do not go on a bike ride with others.  Only ride with members of your own household.
  2. When riding on county park trails, follow the directional signage, and keep all traffic moving in one direction.
  3. If you're riding for commuting purposes, be sure to carry sanitary wipes and hand sanitizer, and clean any part of your bike that you touch with your hands.
