4th Annual Native Plant Festival

Come learn all about the Cape Fear Region's native plants at the 4th Annual Native Plant Festival on Saturday, September 21st from 9am-4pm at the NHC Arboretum.  There will be native plants for sale from local vendors, presentations by horticultural experts, food trucks, educational booths, and activities for kids including lawn games, music, and crafts.  Admission is FREE!  Satellite parking with free shuttle to the Arboretum will be available at Seagate Baptist Church (6115 Oleander Drive).  More Information

"Rained Out" App

Did you know that you can receive New Hanover County athletic field closures delivered directly to your cell phone or email?  All you have to do is sign up for the "Rained Out" app, and you'll be notified as soon as the decision is made to close (which is typically between 12-1pm).  Learn more and sign up at RainedOut.net

Butterfly Release

Tuesday, September 3rd is the last Butterfly Release of the season at Airlie Gardens.  The program will take place in the Butterfly House from 2-3pm.  In case of rain, the program will take place in the classroom.  Free for Airlie Members and included in garden admission for all others.  More Information

Echo Farms
Construction at Echo Farms is expected to begin in September.  This project will include a new clubhouse with restroom facilities for the tennis courts and swimming pool, renovation of the existing swimming pool, and a 0.7-mile walking trail.  The tennis courts are expected to remain open during construction.  

Battle Park
A design team has been selected for Battle Park!  The design  process is expected to take one year to complete, and will offer opportunities for public input.  We will post information and updates regarding the design process on our facebook page and Parks.NHCgov.com

Save the Date- November 3rd

The next Parks Conservancy Food Truck Rodeo has been scheduled for Sunday, November 3rd from 12-5pm at Ogden Park!  The rodeo will feature 30 different food trucks, including all your local favorites and some new trucks!  More Information
