Join the Trash Mob
Are you TIRED of TRASH? Then join the TRASH MOB! The Trash Mob was created by the NHC Parks Conservancy as a fun way to volunteer and help keep the streets of New Hanover County clean by picking up litter. The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month to pick up trash from 10-11:30am. Locations vary each month, depending on where the trash is. Email jorich@nhcgov.com to add your name to the list to receive location information. The Trash Mob also meets on the second Saturday of January, March, June and September at Parkwood Park to pick up trash from 9-11am along our "adopted" highway Harris Road. We provide all the supplies (trash bags, gloves, safety vests and pickers). All you have to do is show up and pick up trash. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and can volunteer as an individual or group. More Information

Park Rx is a program that partners health and social service providers with local parks to encourage people to spend more time outdoors in nature to improve their health and well-being.
