Feeding Your Soil: Composting & Vermicomposting Lecture
Learn all about composting at the Arboretum on Sat, May 18 from 10am-12:30pm. Composting is the controlled decomposition of organic materials into a soil-like substance called compost. Organic materials such as grass clippings, leaves, food scraps, and non-recyclable paper products can be composted at home in compost bins, piles, or worm bins. Home composting is an easy and economical way for individuals to convert their organic waste into a soil amendment they can use to mulch landscaping, enhance plant growth, enrich topsoils, and more. This lecture is free for Friends of the Arboretum and $5 for all others. Registration is required at 910-798-7660. Lecture will be held in the Education Center.
*The May "Back to Basics Gardening Classes" at the Arboretum are FULL. Follow the Arboretum on facebook for all the latest class offerings and updates!
