We hope you and your families are safe and recovering from Hurricane Florence. Our county parks and gardens facilities sustained quite a bit of damage from the winds and rain. Staff and contractors have been working hard to assess the damage, remove trees, repair damaged structures, and clean up debris. Parks and facilities are opening as they become safe for use. Below are recent updates regarding the status of our parks and gardens. For more information and updates, visit Parks.NHCgov.com.
The following parks are open:
- Arrowhead Park (disc golf course is closed)
- Echo Farms Tennis Courts
- Hugh MacRae Park (dog park & pond area are closed)
- Kings Grant Park
- Monterey Heights Park
- Northern Regional Park (disc golf course is closed)
- River Road Park
- Trails End Park
- Veterans Park (soccer/football fields are closed)
Airlie Gardens Update:
Airlie Gardens will remain closed until further notice. We are working hard to get the gardens cleaned up and ready for visitors.
- Our goal is to open by the end of October/early November
- Enchanted Airlie ticket sales will be delayed and will be available sometime in October
- The Oyster Roast will go on as scheduled (tickets are SOLD OUT)

Arboretum Update:
The Arboretum will have a grand reopening on November 2nd, but will open back up to the public the week of October 8th..
- The Plant Clinic & Gift Shop will open October 1st
- Art in the Arboretum has been rescheduled for November 2-4th

Join us on Sunday, October 7th from 12-5pm as the Food Truck Rodeo rolls back to Hugh MacRae Park! The event is free to attend- just bring money to purchase your food and drinks. There will be close to 30 food trucks & vendors in attendance, as well as live music by Boba Funk & Friends. The food trucks will give a portion of their sales for the day back to the Parks Conservancy of New Hanover County. More Information
Echo Farms Park Tennis Survey
