Visit Airlie Gardens this March

Winter is coming to an end, the tulips are near peak bloom and Airlie Gardens has resumed normal operating hours- Open Daily 9am-5pm.  Tickets are just $9/Adults (13+), $5/NHC Residents & Military, $3/Children (4-12) and free for Children under 4.  General garden admission is always free for Airlie Members, and the first Sunday of every month admission is free for NHC Residents!  

Airlie is offering special Guided Walking Tours of the gardens at 10am on Sat, March 10th, 24th and April 7th.  A garden guide will lead the tour and discuss Airlie's history, horticulture and ecology.  Tours are included in garden admission and are free for Airlie Members.  Groups of five or more should call ahead and register with Flo Berry at (910) 798-7566 or by email.  You can also schedule a private guided walking tour for your group of five or more.  Tours must be requested at least 48 hours in advance and last approximately 1.5 hours.  Contact Flo Berry for more information.

Athletic Field Notification System

The spring athletic season has begun and Parks & Gardens has a new way to notify parents and coaches of athletic field closures due to weather.  With “RainedOut,” field closure notifications can be delivered directly to your email inbox or your mobile phone by text.  Click here and enter your phone number or email address to join RainedOut.  You may unsubscribe from the service at any time.  *Field closure decisions are typically made between 12-1pm each day.

You probably heard that Smith Creek Park was vandalized again in early February.  Did you know that YOU can help us stop vandalism?  If you see something that seems out of the ordinary, please contact Parks & Gardens at (910) 798-7620 or the Sheriff's Office at (910) 798-4200 to make an anonymous report.

Tennis Clinics at Ogden Park

Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the game of tennis or a more advanced player just wanting to brush up on your tennis skills, Greater Wilmington Tennis Association has a clinic for you!  Visit their website to learn more and register for clinics such as Try Tennis, Stroke of the Day, Doubles Strategy and MORE!
