As Knightdale prepares for its Centennial Celebration on March 9, 2027, the Town is working to capture and preserve the stories, history, and experiences that have shaped its community over the past 100 years.
We’re asking for your help in identifying individuals who would be great candidates for short interviews. These may include longtime residents, community leaders, business owners, former officials, or anyone with meaningful insight into Knightdale’s history and growth.

Learn More About Knightdale’s 2026 Parks and Recreation Bond Referendum
 On November 3, 2026, Knightdale residents will have a chance to vote on the Knightdale Parks and Recreation Bond Referendum. This bond would fund a world-class recreation complex, located at 2004 Marks Creek Road in Knightdale, with multiple gymnasiums, fitness studios, and multi-generational programming spaces that will impact all Knightdale residents. We encourage everyone to learn more about what’s proposed and make their voices heard.
The Town of Knightdale is committed to providing residents with clear and factual information so you can make an informed decision.
There are several ways you can get more information about the Parks and Recreation Bond Referendum. The Town of Knightdale will host several block parties to help residents gain a better understanding of the upcoming Parks and Recreation Bond Referendum. The first two parties will be held at Harper Park on Thursday, October 15th, and at Planters Walk on Tuesday, October 20th.
 You can also visit the official website at knightdalebond.com, look out for information tables at Town events with representatives who will help explain the referendum details, or send an email to parksbond@knightdalenc.gov, and a Town representative will get back to you to answer any questions you have.

 We're making a few changes to improve our services! Beginning OCTOBER 1st, several operational updates will take effect:
- The payment drop box currently located at Town Hall will be removed. Residents may use the NEW payment drop box at the Finance Office, 305 Sugar Magnolia Lane, Suite 105.
- The Finance Office will have new lobby hours for in-person payments, with service available from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
These changes are designed to improve convenience and make our financial services more efficient. Thank you for your cooperation as we make these improvements.
Business of The Month Spotlight: Burn Boot Camp Knightdale
 Burn Boot Camp Knightdale has become much more than just a fitness center. Owned by Kip & Katy Downer and Brian & Meghan Lafferty, the business has spent the past seven years helping Knightdale residents build healthier lifestyles through fitness, accountability, and community. They are known for their encouraging atmosphere, certified personal trainers, and complimentary child watch program. Burn Boot Camp welcomes individuals of all fitness levels while helping members gain confidence, strength, and lasting healthy habits.
Beyond fitness, Burn Boot Camp Knightdale is deeply involved in the local community through partnerships with local businesses, participation in town events, and fundraising efforts such as its annual support of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Their mission remains simple: inspire, empower, and transform lives while creating a positive impact throughout Knightdale.
Knightdale Parks & Recreation Presents The Boots and Beats Silent Disco
 Join us for our Boots and Beats Silent Disco on Friday, September 18th, at Haven Farm! It's an all-ages event with a fun and festive western glow theme!
Bring the family out to grab some headphones, pick your favorite music channel, choose the music YOU want to dance to, and have an all-out party without loud speakers. Dinner and glow gear will be provided. All you need to do is put on your best cowboy boots and hat, and get ready to PARTY!

Arts & Education Festival A Back-To-School Celebration
The Town of Knightdale's annual Arts & Education Festival once again brought together residents, community partners, sponsors, volunteers, and staff to help students prepare for a successful school year. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, hundreds of students received valuable back-to-school resources, including bookbags, school supplies, haircuts, braiding services, and other essentials to help them start the academic year with confidence.
Beyond the giveaways, the festival provided a fun and welcoming atmosphere where families could connect with local organizations, enjoy arts-related activities, and celebrate the spirit that makes Knightdale such a special place to live, work, and raise a family.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all of our sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and participants who helped make this year's festival possible. Your support plays a critical role in ensuring that our students begin the school year prepared and encouraged.
A special thank you goes to the Town of Knightdale Parks and Recreation team for their outstanding planning and coordination efforts, as well as the many Town staff members and members of the Knightdale Town Council who volunteered their time and energy to make the event a success. Their dedication and commitment to serving our community were evident throughout the day.

This professional development opportunity was voluntarily pursued in addition to their regular responsibilities, demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to both personal growth and public service. Their dedication to serving our community and strengthening our organization is truly commendable.

Congresswoman Ross Hosts Housing Roundtable in Knightdale
 "Home" isn't just a building - it's security, it's dignity, and it's a right.
Congresswoman Deborah Ross held an Eastern Wake County Housing Roundtable in Knightdale on Affordable Housing with local government leaders and regional partners. The discussion focused on recent housing legislation aimed at increasing the housing supply, reducing costs, and expanding access to affordable housing for families across our region.
Participants shared local perspectives, discussed challenges facing Eastern Wake County communities, and explored opportunities for collaboration to address housing needs.
We appreciate the opportunity to host and be a part of this important conversation and look forward to continuing to work with our partners to support housing solutions that strengthen our communities.

 The Knightdale Fire Department is proud to welcome 11 new firefighters to our team. These dedicated individuals have answered the call to serve and are beginning their journey of protecting lives, property, and our community.

Knightdale Police Host School Supply Drive

Thanks to the amazing community support, Knightdale Police Department's school supply drive was a huge success. They were able to deliver all of the school supply donations to Knightdale Elementary, Hodge Road Elementary, Lockhart Elementary, and Forestville Elementary to help students and families in need.
The staff and students at each school were so grateful for all of the donations. You made a huge difference for local families as they started the new school year! Congrats to Knightdale Police Department, and to all of the students in our area. Good luck this year!

 The Knightdale Police Department is proud to announce the Live Like Ryan Golf Tournament at Zebulon Country Club. This special event honors the life and legacy of Officer Ryan Hayworth, and all proceeds will benefit the Live Like Ryan Foundation.

Beginning October 1, several Town departments will transition to new phone numbers as part of ongoing efforts to improve communication and customer service. Departments receiving new phone numbers include Police, Development Services, Community Relations, and Finance.
Residents are encouraged to stay connected through the Town's social media channels, where additional details, including the new phone numbers and transition information, will be shared in the coming weeks.
