As Knightdale prepares for its Centennial Celebration on March 9, 2027, the Town is working to capture and preserve the stories, history, and experiences that have shaped its community over the past 100 years.
We’re asking for your help in identifying individuals who would be great candidates for short interviews. These may include longtime residents, community leaders, business owners, former officials, or anyone with meaningful insight into Knightdale’s history and growth.

Starting Strong: Celebrating the New School Year
 Councilor Grady Bussey, Knightdale Town staff, and other community leaders were proud to help welcome students back for the start of a new school year. They participated in clap-in events at Neuse River Middle School, Lockhart Elementary, and Hodge Road Magnet Elementary.
The energy and excitement were contagious, creating a memorable start to a year filled with new opportunities for learning, growth, and achievement.
Here's to a successful school year ahead! We wish all students, teachers, administrators, and school staff a fantastic year filled with discovery, accomplishment, and meaningful experiences. Welcome back, and let's make it a great year!
 
Veterans, Town Staff Attend The Hometown Heroes Banner Reception

Knightdale staff and members of the community came out to Knightdale Station Park to honor the first Hometown Hero Military Banner honorees. Representative James Roberson, Mayor Day and Town of Knightdale staff were in attendance and celebrated the members of the military chosen to be on the banners you'll see up around town. We're extremely grateful for their service!

July 4th was an incredible morning to celebrate Independence Day and America's 250th, anniversary, and that's exactly what we did at our Fourth on First Avenue event!
Hundreds of Knightdale residents joined us at Knightdale Station Park for a morning filled with community, patriotism, live music, delicious food, family activities, and our annual bike parade. We appreciate everyone who embraced the earlier event schedule we implemented to help beat the heat and celebrate safely.
A special thank you to our sponsors, vendors, performers, volunteers, public safety personnel, and Town staff who made the event possible. Your dedication helped create another memorable Fourth on First for our community.

In July, we kicked off the Knightdale Leaders Academy (KLA) with some of our community's brightest young leaders. Led by Community Relations Director Rachel Morris, the first session included professional headshots by Keenan Hairston, team-building activities, and personal branding. Students challenged themselves through interactive exercises, built new connections, and began discovering the unique strengths and values they bring as leaders.
A special thank you to Mayor Jessica Day, Councilor Latatious Morris, and the many Town of Knightdale staff members who helped make the first session memorable.
This is just the beginning of an incredible journey. Over the coming months, these young leaders will continue developing the skills, confidence, and character needed to make a positive impact in their schools, organizations, and our community.
We can't wait to watch this outstanding group grow, lead, and inspire. The future of Knightdale is bright!
Knightdale Police Hosts Successful Fill The Car School Supply Drive

The Knightdale Police Department's Fill the Car School Supply Drive was a tremendous success, thanks to the generosity of our amazing community. We also extend a special thank you to Walmart Knightdale for hosting this event and helping us collect much-needed supplies for local elementary school students.
Your donations will have a lasting impact on students and families throughout Knightdale. We appreciate everyone who came out to support this important cause!

Knightdale Police Completes Camp P.R.I.D.E. Summer Program
 Knightdale Police hosted another successful Camp P.R.I.D.E. event this year, and it was better than ever!
This year, students played sports, learned about agriculture, interacted with exotic animals, and so much more. They learned about the dangers of impaired driving from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and worked together to solve a mock crime, analyze evidence, and follow clues, giving them a firsthand look at what it takes to be a detective. These are just a few activities the students participated in during their busy week schedule.
A very special thank you goes to Officer Kelly for organizing and leading such an impactful program, whose dedication to our youth and our community makes this event possible each year.
We are grateful for everyone who helped make Camp P.R.I.D.E. a success, and we are already looking forward to next year!

Make Plans To Attend The Arts And Education Festival
Join us on Saturday, August 15th, for our Arts and Education Festival at Knightdale Station Park! It's happening from 10 am until 1 pm, and the day will be packed with family and back-to-school activities. We will be giving away 550* backpacks this year, and we will also have an art contest with PRIZES, Camp Flintlock as part of our America 250 celebration, hair cuts and hair braiding**, and MUCH MORE!

Now Accepting Applications for Veterans Memorial Monument
 The Knightdale Veterans Memorial Advisory Board is currently accepting applications for our 2027 Memorial Day event. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, December 2nd.
Each year, Knightdale veterans who have passed are recognized and their names are engraved on the Veterans Memorial Monument. If you would like to submit an application on behalf of a fallen veteran, please visit our website.
