2026 Creek Week A Huge Success
Knightdale's Stormwater team, in conjunction with the NC Clean Water Education Partnership (CWEP), hosted the 2026 Regional Creek Week event in town. The week was full of events that focused on preserving the environment and celebrating the streams and rivers that sustain and connect us.
Residents enjoyed a StoryWalk at the Knightdale Environmental Park, a volunteer litter sweep, a shred-a-thon, and a milkweed seed giveaway. Mayor Day also led a tree planting event in honor of Arbor Day, and in honor of Knightdale receiving a TreeCity USA designation for the 25th year in a row!
As sustainability is a key pillar in Knightdale's Strategic Plan, we are honored to host Creek Week every year, and we can't wait to do it again next year. Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's event and made it the success it was!

The winners, recognized at the March Town Council meeting by Mayor Day, were: Kayla Gallo, Charli Caplin, Alvin Ennis III (represented by his mother below), Charlotte Norton, Charlotte Walker, and Jack Moore (not pictured).

Knightdale Celebrates Local Residents for Women's History Month
March is National Women's History Month, and the Town took an opportunity to highlight several women in Knightdale who help make our communities brighter.
The women represented various careers and service areas around town. The women recognized were: Maxine Phillips, President of the Knightdale Rotary Club; Stefanie DeSpagni of the Two Green Thumbs Garden Club; Renita McPherson, Owner of Essie’s Delights LLC; Brandy Hamilton, Library Manager for the East Regional Library; Bonnie Mwanda, Principal of Neuse River Middle School; Roxanne Engstrom, owner of Hawa Images; and Rita Blackmon, a local Community Engagement Advocate.
Knightdale wouldn't be the amazing town it is without these women and the many others making a difference in our town. Thank you for all you do each and every day!

Knightdale Police Department Members Complete Chiefs of Police Institute
Knightdale Police Department proudly recognizes three of its leaders for their continued commitment to professional growth and excellence in law enforcement. Lieutenants Steven Williams, Ron Fullerton, and Travis Price (left to right) successfully completed the prestigious Chiefs of Police Institute through the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police, held at the North Carolina Justice Academy.
This advanced leadership program is designed to strengthen executive-level decision-making, organizational leadership, and strategic planning within law enforcement agencies. Their accomplishment reflects not only personal dedication but also a commitment to enhancing the quality of service KPD provides to the Knightdale community.
We are proud of their achievement and the example they continue to set for the department. Congratulations, Lieutenants!
