Town of Knightdale Honors ARC Award Recipients And Employee Of The Year
The Town recently recognized several of our Town staff members as the 2025 ARC Award recipients! These employees received the ARC Award for demonstrating exemplary commitment to the Town's Accountability, Respect and Customer service values.
Congratulations to: Michelle Arnold, Business Analyst; Nicole Edwards, Detective; Antonio Jenkins, Maintenance Worker; Elizabeth Kelly, Police Officer; and Heidi Salminen, Planning Technician.
This year's Employee of the Year award went to Knightdale Police Department Accreditation Manager Erin Carden. Erin is a pivotal member of the KPD team, and we believe she is extremely deserving of this award.
We're super proud of all that these professionals do for the Town and its residents! Thank you for your service!
The Knightdale community came together for our Interfaith Community Service Program to honor the life, legacy and leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We are so grateful to all who joined us in reflection, service and unity. Dr. King's message reminds us that progress is made when we work together to uplift one another.
A special thank you to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Chi Rho Omega Chapter; our amazing youth who participated in the program; Rev. Paul Anderson; Rev. Steven Hargrove; and the Malaby’s Crossroads Baptist Church Choir.
Lastly, thank you to everyone who donated to the Food Donation Drive in support of the Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack. Your generosity will help fill meal kits for local children.

Knightdale Fire Department Places Engine 134 In Service

Knightdale Fire Department officially placed Engine 134 in service at Station 4. With the addition of Engine 134, Station 4 becomes the second dual company fire station in the Knightdale Fire Department history, now housing both Engine 134 and Ladder 13.
Engine 134 will now assume primary engine functions, allowing Ladder 13 to transition away from operating as a "Quint" (a single unit capable of multiple roles) and instead function in a more traditional and effective ladder company role.
With this change, the Knightdale Fire Department now responds from four fire stations, operating three Engines (E-131, E-132, and E-134), one Rescue Engine (Squad 133), and one Ladder Company (Ladder 13).
We hope the Knightdale community will see, through this addition, that KFD remains committed to adapting its operations to meet increasing call volume, expanding development, and the evolving emergency service needs of the Town, and to delivering reliable, professional emergency services throughout Knightdale.
Fire Department Staff Receive Promotions
|
|
The recent placement of Engine 134 was made possible through the promotion of nine department members, ensuring appropriate supervision, leadership, and staffing for the new operational unit. Congratulations to these distinguished individuals:
Promoted to the rank of Captain: P. Roberts, J. Sherrod, and J. King.
Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant: M. Sok, M. Medlin, M. Weese, R. Swisher, J. Caldwell, and W. Densmore.
Each promotion followed a competitive promotional process and reflects the department's commitment to developing leaders from within.
