Knightdale, in partnership with the Two Green Thumbs Garden Club, hosted its annual Veterans Day Tribute at the Veterans Memorial in the heart of the town. The event is a cherished time to show respect to our local heroes who dedicated time and sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We send thanks to everyone who came out to help us make this very special event a success.
As November was Veterans and Military Families Month, The Town released a new promotional video to recognize the efforts of all Knightdale residents who honor and support our local veterans. Produced by Amazing Studios, the video is a great statement of what our military families and heroes mean to the vibrancy of our town.

Extra Mile Award Recipient Named

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., once said, “Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.” The recipient of our very first Extra Mile Award is indeed a great Knightdale resident and community member. Sandi Dabrowski, the Chairperson of Community Gardens for the Two Green Thumbs Garden Club, has dedicated countless hours to beautifying our town’s gardens and mentoring gardening volunteers. Not only has she enhanced the landscape of our town, but she has also enriched the lives of the people around her. In the words of one Knightdale resident:
“What truly sets her apart is her spirit. She leads by doing. By showing up. By caring deeply. Even in tough moments, she brings strength, grace, and grit. Whether she’s navigating community logistics with staff or rolling up her sleeves to help a struggling volunteer, she does it with humility and heart. People gravitate to her because she makes everyone feel seen and valued. And because she shows us—by example—what community really means. Her impact is lasting, and her legacy of service continues to bloom in every corner of our shared space.”
We couldn’t have said it better. Join us in sending CONGRATULATIONS to our 2025 Knightdale Extra Mile Award recipient, SANDI DABROWSKI! We appreciate all you do for our community. Knightdale is a better, brighter place to live because of you!

As Knightdale continues to grow, so does our commitment to building strong, meaningful connections with residents and local businesses.
We are pleased to welcome Kayla Gibson to the Community Relations department. Kayla, a Knightdale native, is a recent graduate of Hampton University’s MBA program, where she excelled academically and gained valuable experience through internships with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Hampton’s Proton Cancer Institute. Her background in business, service, and community-focused work makes her a wonderful addition to our team.
Kayla will be actively out in the community supporting community partners, engaging with residents, and assisting local organizations. She will also team up with our Business Support Specialist to strengthen partnerships with Knightdale’s businesses and increase support for our commercial community.
Together, our growing team remains dedicated to advancing and supporting the residents of Knightdale.

DAV Receives Roof Donation from NC Roofs for Veterans
Our local Disabled American Veterans (DAV) chapter was awarded a newly renovated roof for its facility. The donation came from the NC Roofs For Veterans Free Roofing Program, established by A7M Premier Roofing and Construction. The program is run by military veterans and is facilitated by principles taught in the military: promotion of hard work, a dedication to the mission and one another, conducting business with integrity, and treating customers with respect.
Special thanks to Councilor Stephen Morgan for attending the event on behalf of the Town of Knightdale. Congratulations, DAV!
