Cooling Temps and Awesome Events
Hello, Knightdale! October has been a great month. We've enjoyed the changing season and had some amazing events! A lot has been going on in our Town, and there's so much more on the way! I wanted to share some recent events that happened in Knightdale, as well as a few things going on with our citizens and community.

Ushering Autumn In With Our Fall On First Avenue Event
 Knightdale hosted its annual Fall on First Avenue to usher in the beginning of the autumn season. Residents and guests brought their families out to enjoy a host of activities, including a petting zoo, hayrides, pumpkin painting, live music from Love Tribe (pictured above), shopping the craft vendor market, and so much more.
These events are always memorable for Knightdale residents. I want to send thanks to our Parks and Recreation team for putting together another outstanding event!

Knightdale Mayor's Academy Participants Meet Elected Officials From Our District, County and State
 This year's Knightdale Mayor's Academy participants got an opportunity to have some in-depth conversations with two panels of elected officials that represent Knightdale. The focus was to inform the participants about the various roles and responsibilities of the people they vote for. However, the discussions and interactions provided so much more insight into our interdependence on each other as a community. The entire evening was filled with interesting dialogue.
I want to thank all of the guest panelists for taking time to speak to our KMA cohort: Representative James Roberson, Senator Dan Blue, Judges Julie Bell and Ashleigh Parker, Wake County Vice-Chair Don Mial, Commissioner Shinica Thomas, Commissioner Tara Water, School Board Member Cheryl Caulfield, and School Board Member Toshiba Rice.

DAV Ribbon Celebrates Chapter House Renovation With A Ribbon Cutting
 Members of the Knightdale Town Council celebrated with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) as they cut the ribbon on their newly renovated facility. Other noted dignitaries included North Carolina State Representative James Roberson and a host of local veterans.
Mayor Pro Tem Steve Evans accepted an award given by the DAV to Knightdale's Parks and Recreation department for their dedication to veteran affairs over the years, allowing DAV a dedicated space to continue serving veterans. The organization also presented an award to Representative Roberson for securing a $100,000 grant that was used to help renovate the Knightdale chapter's house.

Knightdale is proud of and grateful for our local veterans, and we look forward to our local DAV enjoying many meetings and events in their newly renovated space.
Knightdale Welcomes Kiddie Academy With A Community Ribbon Cutting Event

Knightdale is proud to welcome its newest education center, Kiddie Academy, located on McKnight Drive. Mayor Pro Tem Steve Evans and Councilor Latatious Morris were there to welcome the crowd and introduce the new business owners to the supportive crowd in attendance.
The Knightdale Town Council values education at all levels, and we are extremely excited to have this new student institution in our community!
Town Council Candidates Meet In Moderated Forum
 The Town of Knightdale hosted a forum for potential Town Council candidates at 7 pm on Thursday, October 2nd, at Knightdale Town Hall. The event was moderated by North Carolina State Representative James Roberson.
Residents had the opportunity to meet the Town Council candidates as well as submit questions for the candidates to answer during the event. If you missed it, you can click the image above to watch a recording of the entire event.
