How exciting is it to think about going back to school? Well, that depends on who answers that question! We in Knightdale were elated to send our youth back to school in style with our Arts and Education Festival!
Our Arts & Education Festival highlights the importance of education as students gear up for their upcoming year of school. It also spotlights the importance of art and creativity in the lives of our youth and throughout our communities.
Knightdale believes education is the pathway to success, and that an awareness of resources will help better equip our local students. Our goal with the Arts and Education Festival is to (a) prepare and equip our students with the tools and resources they need to improve their learning experience, and (b) connect Knightdale community members with local non-profits and cultural art opportunities that they may not otherwise be exposed to.
Festival attendees enjoyed a beautiful day at Knightdale Station Park, food trucks galore, a live DJ, and a host of local community vendors. Students enjoyed inflatables and were gifted with backpacks full of school supplies to help them start the year off right.
We want to send a special thanks to our Executive Sponsors (CutzByQuick Barbershop, ABC11, Johnson Auto Body, The Rotary Club of Knightdale, A's For Kids), our Premier Sponsors (Faith Preschool Academy and Worry Free Psychology), and our Education Care Sponsor (Hawa Photography) for their support. We also want to thank everyone who came out to make this event special for our Knightdale youth.

The Knightdale Police Department, in conjunction with the Live Like Ryan Foundation, will host two events this fall in honor of fallen Knightdale Police officer, Ryan Hayworth: the Live Like Ryan Memorial 5K Run and 2025 Live Like Ryan Golf Tournament.
The LLR Memorial 5K run is an annual event held at Knightdale Station Park, and it will take place on Saturday, October 25, at 8 am. Sponsored by the Knightdale Police Department and the Live Like Ryan Foundation, the run brings out all styles of runners, from professional to casual. The Golf Tournament will be held at the Zebulon Country Club on Friday, November 14, at noon. Teams will have the opportunity to play and even win a new car. If you think you have what it takes to hit the perfect HOLE IN ONE on Hole #13, you could walk away with the keys to a Brand New CHEVROLET TRAX, courtesy of Universal Chevrolet! Be sure to sign up for the tournament by clicking the link below.
Officer Hayworth's legacy in Knightdale will never be forgotten, so it is an honor for the Town to present these events in memory of his spirit of sacrifice and service. We hope you will consider attending them with your family and friends.

Celebrate Extra Mile Day With The Town of Knightdale

The Town of Knightdale will join other cities in North Carolina this year in observing Extra Mile Day, a day to recognize residents and community members who go above and beyond in public service.
Originated by the organization Extra Mile America, the day challenges people and organizations to do more than just wish for change. By encouraging all of us to live with a “go the extra mile” spirit, Extra Mile Day promotes the possibility of change being created one positive word, action and attitude at a time.
We encourage all Knightdale residents to nominate an individual who has made a positive impact, whether through volunteering, mentoring, leading by example, or offering support in meaningful ways. Use the nomination form below to help us find some amazing "Extra Mile" Knightdale residents!
Knightdale Fire Department's Swiftwater Team Sent To Aid Hurricane Erin Efforts
Knightdale is proud to have a dedicated, skilled and well-trained Swiftwater Team within our fire department. These individuals are called on to perform specialized rescues and recovery operations in hazardous, fast-moving water environments like rivers and floodwaters, using techniques and equipment to save lives and property during emergencies.
The Swiftwater Team was recently deployed to Plymouth in anticipation of assistance that may have been needed from Hurricane Erin, which skirted the coastal regions of North Carolina. Thankfully, damage was minimal, so our team made it back home safe and sound. Nevertheless, we have peace of mind that our town houses a specialized team that can handle such emergencies when needed. We appreciate you, KFD!
