Knightdale Students Continue To Lead The Way
We're always excited to have Knightdale youth join us to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at our monthly Town Council meetings, and we've had some really amazing groups of students! Recently we've had our Council Meetings opened up by Cub Scouts Pack and BSA Troop 34, and Neuse River Middle School 8th Grade Advanced Learners Class, to name just a few groups.
Knightdale is proud to have so many great young leaders in our town, and we look forward to seeing all of the amazing things they do in the months and years to come!
Creek Week 2025 A HUGE Success
Knightdale, you showed up in a BIG way for this year's Creek Week! I couldn't be more proud of all that we accomplished. Here's a brief snapshot:

We cut the ribbon on the StoryWalk and this year's selection, The Little Raindrop.

We had an Arbor Day Tree Planting at the public library, and Knightdale was recognized for the 24th year in a row as a TreeCity USA town!
- We had a Litter Sweep with over 40 VOLUNTEERS who helped pick up trash on Knightdale Blvd, McKnight and Smithfield Roads. Way to keep Knightdale clean!

We gave away ALL of our butterfly bushes in under 5 minutes! You all love pollinators as much as we do!

We facilitated a successful Shred-A-Thon to help residents safely dispose of sensitive documents.
Special thank you to our Public Works team, Development Services team, East Regional Library, Two Green Thumbs Garden Club, Land Use Review Board, North Carolina Forest Services and most of all our Knightdale community for your efforts to make Knightdale a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful place to live!
Congresswoman Ross Hosts State of Women In Wake County Event
 Congresswoman Deborah Ross hosted her inaugural State of Women in Wake County, and I am so glad I attended! The forum was full of thoughtful conversations and insightful panels regarding issues Wake County women are currently dealing with. Topics ranged from affordable child care, equal pay, upcoming legislation impacting women's rights, and so much more. This was a great time to converse with great female minds in Wake County leadership, and I look forward to continuing these conversations in our communities and beyond.
Mingo Creek Extension Is Open!
 I want to thank EVERYONE who came out to help us cut the ribbon on the Mingo Creek extension here in Knightdale! This is such an important project to me. If you didn't know, the extension provides a missing greenway link into downtown Knightdale and the surrounding neighborhoods. It also connects Mingo Creek Park and Knightdale Station Park with 1.3 miles of multi-use trail, enhancing connectivity and outdoor recreation opportunities in our community. The initiative directly supports the Active and Healthy focus area of our Strategic Plan, but it also promotes bringing our community together and sustaining a high quality of life for our residents.
A very SPECIAL thanks to Wake County Commissioner Don Mial, Sig Hutchinson, Representative James Roberson for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend this event.
The REX Wellness Facility Is Here For You

Knightdale's Community Relations team and I recently got an invitation to tour the REX Wellness Center here in Knightdale, and WOW! The facility has some great amenities for the Knightdale Community: a large indoor track, steam room, indoor pool, nutrition counseling, a TON of weight training equipment, and so much more! We encourage living Active and healthy lifestyles as part of our Strategic Plan, and the REX Wellness Center is one of many resources that can help facilitate that. I'm grateful for the tour and experience, and I encourage you to check out this great wellness community, right in our own backyard! |
8th Annual Wake Tech Ignite Focuses On The Power of Education
 Over 800 businesses and community organizations came together to attend this year's Wake Tech Ignite event at the Raleigh Convention Center. This year's theme centered around educational "journeys," and the notion that academic opportunities at Wake Tech can help students investigate new avenues of success, growth and development.
Ignite always reminds me of the vast network of community support our students, local and throughout the state, have at their access. The Town Council and I continue to explore innovative assets and ideas that will help students in Knightdale thrive, and this year's Ignite definitely catapulted some creative resources that can be utilized in the future. Kudos to our Wake Tech partners for another successful event!

 Please join us for our annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 26, at the Knightdale Veterans Memorial. Our keynote speaker will be Siobhan Norris, who is the Division Director of Wake County Veteran Services. Bring the family out as we take a moment to remember and honor our local fallen heroes.
 It’s time to celebrate culture, community, and legacy! Join us for the African American Festival on Friday, June 14, from 4–9 PM at Knightdale Station Park. The event will be full of live music & performances, food trucks, art, culture and history, family-friendly fun and all-around good vibes! Make plans now to join us!
