Knightdale Hosts Its First HOA Forum
 |
|
Knightdale hosted its first Neighborhood HOA Forum in March at Town Hall. Moderated by Town Council member Latatious Morris, the event offered opportunities for town residents to ask questions of the five panelists: Town Manager Bill Summers, Development Services Director Jason Brown, Police Chief Lawrence Capps, Community Relations Director Rachel Morris, and Knightdale Mayor Jessica Day. Together, they provided a greater awareness of answers, resources and plans impacting the issues and concerns of residents that were present.
To view the entire presentation, click the photo below. We are grateful for everyone who came out to listen and voice their concerns to our Town experts.

Participation Soars for 2025 Creek Week Events
Residents of Knightdale came out by the dozens to support various activities during this year's Clean Water Education Partnership (CWEP) Regional Creek Week event.
This year's Creek Week included a StoryWalk around the Knightdale Environmental Park, with accompanying activities provided by the East Regional Library; a shred event for secure disposal of personal documents; a community litter sweep lead by resident volunteers that collected over two tons of trash; a tree planting ceremony in honor of Arbor Day and Knightdale's continued recognition as a Tree City USA; a butterfly bush giveaway, which was a huge success with residents and an art contest highlighting the importance of protecting creeks from pollution.
Special thanks to Ike Archer, Knightdale's Stormwater Program Manager, for coordinating all of the events for Creek Week. Thanks to our residents, our town is cleaner and more beautiful than ever! Thanks to everyone who participated!

“Love of a Clean Night Sky”
“I think why we need to keep our water clean because it affects everything. We would have gross air because like the story said on our walk the water goes back into the air. It would be garbage air and we would not be able to see the stars if dirty.”

The Town of Knightdale, in conjunction with La Grande Radio, held its annual Latin American Festival on Sunday, April 27, at Knightdale Station Park. This was the fourth year of the event for Knightdale, and the third year partnering with La Grande.
The festival brought together over 6,000 attendees from various cities, states and countries. Noted stage performers and entertainment included Los Acoustic Guys, Valery Roxann, Orquesta K’che and Grupo Bryndis. Festival attendees enjoyed various foods from local food truck vendors, including La Rancherita, Tacos Neza, and more.
During the event, La Grande presented Knightdale Mayor Jessica Day and Knightdale Police with Supporter Recognition presentations. The awards were given for “outstanding dedication and commitment to supporting and uplifting the Latino community.” Knightdale Town Council member Mark Swan accepted the award on behalf of Mayor Day, and officers Steven Valerio and Chandler Koewler received the award on behalf of the police department.
As a town that fosters connected and inclusive interaction, Knightdale is proud to support events that celebrate diversity. We hope to see you at next year's Latin American Festival!

Harper Hour = Happy Time In Knightdale
Harper Hour is a new program from Knightdale Parks and Recreation. Residents, friends and family can enjoy great food, a little friendly competition, and a family atmosphere where they can kick back, relax, and make some memories.
Our initial Harper Hour event featured cold drinks from Oak City Brewing and live music from Helena Redman that kept everyone grooving! If you missed the first one, Don't miss the next one on May 15th! See you there!
Next week, the Town of Knightdale proudly joins communities across the nation in celebrating Public Service Recognition Week! A time to honor the dedicated individuals who serve our town with passion, professionalism, and heart.
Knightdale’s public servants—from first responders and Public Works crews to administrative professionals, Parks and Recreation staff, and every department in between—play a vital role in ensuring that the town remains a safe, welcoming, and thriving place to live, work, and play.
Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence make a meaningful difference in the lives of Knightdale residents. Whether maintaining infrastructure, supporting public safety, enhancing recreational spaces, or delivering essential services, these employees are the backbone of the town’s daily operations and long-term growth.
Take a moment next week to thank a public servant—whether with a kind word, a note of appreciation, or a simple smile—to show support for the people who work every day to make Knightdale a better place for all.
Leadership Labs Continue To Empower Residents
Knightdale Mayor Jessica Day initiated her Leadership Lab sessions at the end of 2024, and the workshops have become a staple in the community. Partnering with the Rotary Club of Knightdale, Mayor Day presents tools and resources to help residents develop and expand their leadership skills.

Knightdale Police Department recently started something positive at our local McDonalds restaurant on Knightdale Boulevard with their "Coffee with a Cop" event.
KPD, in partnership with the Holder Group McDonalds, spent time in the restaurant to allow residents to ask questions, voice any concerns they had, and get to know the officers that make up our police team.
We're grateful for the opportunity to get to know our residents, and to allow them to get to know us.
