The Town of Knightdale, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Knightdale, hosted the 2025 State of the Town event on Tuesday, February 25, at Haven Farm in Knightdale.
The event was held to update attendees on the accomplishments and successes of the year, as well as provide a glimpse of projects in the works for 2025. Noted guests included the Knightdale Town Council, Wake County Commissioners, Wake County School Board representatives and many others.
Attendees were treated to a catered meal by LaunchKNIGHTDALE graduate HerShefNess Kitchen & Catering and desserts by LaunchKNIGHTDALE participant Cake Town Bakery. After being greeted by the sounds of the Knightdale High School Jazz Band, everyone watched a video presentation, followed by an address by Knightdale Mayor Jessica Day. The event concluded with the 2025 Community Appearance Awards. Winners included el Jimador Mexican Restaurant, Knightdale Gateway, and Scout Troop 365. The Community Appearance Awards recognize the efforts of individuals, organizations and businesses that strive to enhance the appearance of Knightdale.

This unique program gives you a firsthand look into the daily operations of law enforcement and builds stronger relationships between the police and the community.

- Insight into police training, use of force, crime scene investigation, and more!

Knightdale High School Students Enjoy A Day Working With The Town Of Knightdale
The Town of Knightdale recently welcomed students from Knightdale High School for an exciting job shadowing experience! These students had the opportunity to work alongside professionals in various town departments, gaining firsthand insight into local government operations and careers in public service.
From public safety and parks and recreation to planning and administration, students explored different roles, asked questions, and learned how each department plays a vital role in serving our community. This partnership highlights our commitment to supporting youth development and inspiring future leaders.

Leading up to this year's Creek Week activities, the Town of Knightdale will be hosting a Creek Week Art Contest for students throughout town.
This year's theme, "Keep it Clean, Keep it Flowing", celebrates the important role clean water has in our everyday lives. Students should use their artistic skills to convey the idea of sustaining healthy ecosystems and vibrant communities. The contest is open to kids ages Kindergarten to 12th grade. No digital artwork or AI-generated images will be accepted.

 Join us in congratulating the newest sergeants of the Knightdale Police Department! These dedicated officers have demonstrated outstanding leadership, commitment, and service to our community, earning well-deserved promotions. At the February Town Council Meeting, Chief Lawrence Capps administered the oaths of office to our newly promoted police sergeants: Rod Glahn, Matt Maynard, and Jordan Francis.
As sergeants, they will take on greater responsibilities in leading their teams, enhancing public safety, and strengthening community relationships. We appreciate their dedication to keeping Knightdale safe and look forward to the positive impact they will continue to make in their new roles.

Knightdale Station Park playground will soon undergo renovations to bring new and improved features for our community to enjoy! As of April 1st, the playground will be temporarily closed as we upgrade the space with new equipment, improved safety features, and fresh landscaping.
We appreciate your patience during this time and look forward to unveiling a revitalized play area for families and children. Stay tuned for updates on the progress and the grand reopening date!

 Knightdale Parks, Recreation will host the ribbon-cutting for the Mingo Creek Greenway Extension on Thursday, March 13th, at 5:30 PM. This new addition enhances connectivity and outdoor recreation opportunities in our community.
The project will provide a missing greenway link into downtown Knightdale and the surrounding neighborhoods. It will also connect Mingo Creek Park and Knightdale Station Park with approximately 1.3 miles of multi-use trail to connect with the existing Mingo Creek Trail and greenway portal to Knightdale Station Park.
Anticipated guests include Mayor Jessica Day, NC Representative James Roberson, and others. We hope you will come out and celebrate with us!

This FREE interactive, practical learning lab will provide opportunities to explore contemporary leadership and professional development, training and skills building. During this laboratory, participants will get to build professional connections, explore leadership challenges, and develop enhanced abilities together.
