Congratulations to Newly Promoted and Awarded Knightdale Fire Department Members
|
|
|
I want to send a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to members of the Knightdale Fire Department who recently celebrated numerous awards and promotions throughout the department. To Captain Adam Ellis, Captain Brandon Lindsey, Lieutenant Anthony Parrinello, Lieutenant Dale Kernodle, and Lieutenant Seth Hall - the Town of Knightdale and I are so very proud of you!
Additionally, special recognition was given to all the members who deployed to western North Carolina during Hurricane Helene. KFD provided 16 Swiftwater Firefighting and Peer support staff to assist our western NC neighbors. We're grateful for your bravery and expertise, and so are citizens across our state.
The 2024 Todd A. Blanchard Firefighter of the Year award went to Captain Mark Guy for his unwavering dedication, courage, and exemplary service. Knightdale truly has a second-to-none staff of firefighters, and these members are proof. Congrats again!

Mayor Day Attends the Faith and Community Dinner
I'm grateful for every opportunity I get to interact within the community, especially when those opportunities are fostered by organizations looking to connect and bring together diverse populations. I got the chance to be a part of such a gathering recently at the Faith and Community Dinner, hosted by the Wake Forest Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The event was an informal dinner and discussion that brought together leadership from various churches, key community leaders, and state representatives from our area. We collectively talked about building relationships among ourselves, common areas of interest and collaboration, issues in our region that need to be addressed, and how we could support each other in those causes. It was a VERY insightful conversation, and I was honored to be a part, both as a contributor and listener.
Special thanks to Lars Capener for the invitation to a wonderful event!
