As November approaches, we look forward to a month dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who have served our country. Veterans Month is a time for reflection, gratitude, and support for those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
In preparation, we are organizing several community-wide events and initiatives that offer everyone a chance to participate. Here’s how you can get involved:
Operation Green Light for Veterans: As part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, join the Town of Knightdale in illuminating your businesses and homes GREEN from November 4-11. We are asking you to change an exterior light bulb to a green one, which can be seen by neighbors and passersby. By shining a green light, we let veterans know that they are seen, appreciated and supported. Be sure to share your participation on social media using the hashtag "#OperationGreenLight".
Veterans Day Tribute: Join the Two Green Thumbs Garden Club and the Town of Knightdale for our Veterans Day Tribute on Sunday, November 10, at 2 pm. The tribute will be held at the Veterans Memorial in Knightdale Station Park.
We look forward to seeing the community come out to honor our veterans. Together, let’s make Veterans Month a time to remember, appreciate, and celebrate our heroes!
Visit the Knightdale Veterans Memorial to view the list of memorialized veterans.

October was a busy month for business in Knightdale. Mayor Pro Tem Latatious Morris attended a groundbreaking ceremony for Kiddie Academy of Knightdale and a grand opening forReliable Air Conditioning & Heating.
Knightdale is excited to welcome these businesses to town and looks forward to their involvement in the community. We are thankful that Mayor Pro Tem Latatious Morris was invited to these events, as involvement from the town council and Town of Knightdale staff is crucial for building and maintaining positive relationships with local businesses.
If you have an upcoming event or new business and would like Town leadership to be involved, you can submit requests for mayor or council appearances as well as requests for letters and proclamations on the linked page. If you are planning to "Start Something" in Knightdale, we would love to be involved.
The Knightdale Police Department celebrated receiving a $360,000 grant on Wednesday, October 16th alongside the Apex and Morrisville Police Departments. These three departments all received money from the Byrne Discretionary Grant Fund facilitated by Congresswoman Deborah Ross. The money Knightdale received will be going towards upgrading existing and adding new police cruisers to the fleet.
Initiatives like this would not be possible without the help of people like Congresswoman Ross who are working across levels of government to provide help and support for a rapidly growing county and municipalities like our own. The new cruisers will help the Knightdale Police Department better serve the expanding community, decrease response times, and provide safe and reliable vehicles for the officers using them.
