The Knightdale Police Department will undergo an assessment on October 8, 2024, as part of its pursuit of law enforcement accreditation. The assessment will be conducted by the North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation (NCLEA) program, which is designed to ensure that the department meets established professional standards. As part of this assessment the department is inviting both agency employees and community members to provide feedback on the Knightdale Police Department's adherence to NCLEA's standards. Comments should be submitted via email or mail by October 7, 2024.

On September 10th Knightdale Fire Chief Lone Cone and other Fire Services joined Wake Tech leadership at Wake Tech East to break ground on the new advanced fire and rescue training complex.
The unique $23 million center will be used for advanced firefighting techniques and rescue scenarios in mid- to high-rise buildings, hazardous materials training and vehicle extrications.
The Fire and Rescue Training Complex will have several unique training features:
- Six-story live fire training tower
- Five-story rescue tower
- Hazardous materials and vehicle extrication ditch
- Liquid petroleum training pad
- Fire engine pump drafting pit
The new Fire and Rescue Training Center will offer training for new firefighters as well as seasoned professionals to strengthen their skills. The center is scheduled to open in 2026.

On October 25th, be part of the most thrilling community event of the season! Showcase your business or organization to hundreds of families as they enjoy a night of fun, frights, and festivities by registering to set up a trick-or-treat station at Knightdale’s Kick or Treat the Trail, presented by NRFA. You'll have the chance to engage with the community, promote your brand, and join in the Halloween spirit.
REGISTRATION IS FREE!
All we ask is that you supply your own candy to hand out at your trick or treat station. Please note that the selling of goods is not permitted at this event.
Items to bring:
- Candy (estimated 2,000 participants)
- 6 foot or 8 foot table
- Chairs
- Spooky Halloween decorations for your station
- Pop Up Tent (if needed)
