The second annual African American Festival at Knightdale Station Park, held in conjunction with Juneteenth, was a tremendous success! The event, hosted by the Town of Knightdale in partnership with Choice FM and the Knightdale-Wake Forest Education Foundation, brought the community together for a vibrant celebration of African American culture.
Knightdale Mayor Jessica Day spoke about the importance of this festival for the community since it inception last year and how quickly it has grown and cemented itself as a Knightdale staple. Knightdale Council members Latatious Morris, Steve Evans, and Mark Swan were in attendance along with Representative James Roberson and Wake County Commissioner Shinica Thomas.
Attendees enjoyed incredible performances by The Jay Renee Band, artist Omar Wilson, and Evvie McKinney, winner of TV's "The Four: Battle for Stardom." The festival featured over ten food trucks offering a variety of food options, Choice FM's The D.O.C., a memorable Unity Stroll by the Divine 9 historically black fraternities and sororities, spoken word artists, line dancing, and an array of vendors.
Thank you to everyone who came out to make this event so special!

Knightdale is excited to announce the opening of Panther Rock Park! Under the Town's ownership since early 2013, Panther Rock Park is a space where residents and visitors can gather and revel in the natural surroundings.
It is a non-programmed, passive park, which allows visitors to take advantage of its geological and scenic resources located within its 2-acre expanse. There are substantial rock formations, a walking trail, strategically placed benches and a picnic table, a waste station for dog walkers, and trash receptacles throughout the park to maintain a clean, attractive and safe environment.
We have no doubt that our Town will be enjoying this park for years to come!
Panther Rock Park is located adjacent to the Cheswick Subdivision at 840 Hardin Hill Lane.

The Fourth on First celebration in Knightdale was a spectacular success! Our community came together to enjoy a day full of patriotic fun and festivities.
The park was alive with the sound of Love Tribe and children and families enjoying the seemingly endless inflatable fun. The day kicked off with a bike parade where children and families decorated their bikes in red, white, and blue and paraded around the park. The splash pad party was bumping with DJ Highrise, while friends and family kept cool in the water.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this celebration so special. Your participation and enthusiasm helped make Fourth on First an unforgettable event!
