Knightdale Youth Lead Pledge of Allegiance at Town Council Meeting
|
|
To lead our Pledge of Allegiance at this month's Council Meeting, we were elated to have Cub Scout Pack 365 and students from Neuse River Middle School join us! These students are learning through school and scout activities the importance of citizenship, character, leadership, and so much more. Cub Scout Pack 365 even helps keep the greenway trail at Knightdale Community Park litter-free!
I always appreciate our young leaders stepping up to serve. Thank you all for participating in this month's council meeting!

Town Council and Employees Help Build Homes with Habitat for Humanity
Knightdale employees proved they're ready to #StartSomething special in 2024! The Town Council, along with many Town employees, served as volunteers to support Habitat for Humanity in Knightdale. Together, we contributed efforts to build homes for families in need within our community. I actually worked on putting walls up, while others helped install insulation and walls. It was all done in a spirit of service well-deserving future homeowners!
Thanks so much to Habitat for Humanity CEO Patricia Burch and the entire Habitat for Humanity organization for this opportunity to serve our community.

Mayor Day Attends the 44th Annual MLK Triangle Interfaith Prayer Breakfast |
|
|
|
It is always an honor to attend the annual Triangle Interfaith Prayer Breakfast every year. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's legacy of championing equality for all is one that should resonate in our hearts all year. The theme of this year's breakfast, "It Starts With Me: Creating a Beloved Community", is one that rings true for me as Knightdale's mayor, and I will do all I can to make sure I always stand as the first example of the integrity, truth, justice and hope I want to see throughout our town.
Thank you to the Triangle Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee for hosting a wonderful event again this year.

Mayor Day Serves as Judge of Annual Community Cook-off
I want to send a very special thank you to the members of Malaby’s Crossroads Baptist Church for having me as a judge again for their annual cooking competition! I participated in judging a newly introduced category, the appearance awards. It wasn't an easy task, as ALL of the cakes and other desserts looked SO delicious!
I sincerely appreciate getting to attend these community events. It's a great opportunity to chat with and get to know Knightdale citizens, and learn more about their feelings regarding things going on in town. Thank you, Reverend Dr. James Utley, for allowing me to spend time at this event!
