Warming Centers and Winter Shelters

Activation of 'White Flag' occurs when the actual or "feel like" temperature is at least 32 degrees for two or more hours. A 'White Flag' can also be activated when the weather forecast or current conditions include winter weather event causing freezing precipitation, extended below-freezing temperatures, and/or wind concerns, which may impact homeless encampments.

Greensboro Urban Ministry, 305 W. Gate City Blvd., will provide winter shelter this evening January 21st for men and women from 8 pm until 8 am on Wednesday, January 22nd.

Glenwood Church, 1417 Glenwood Ave (Entrance off Grove St)., will provide shelter this evening, January 21st for adults with children, from 8 pm until 6:30 am on Wednesday, January 22nd.
Glenwood Church will be staffed by the Office of Community Safety team, which is trained to work with special populations and coordinate services for families, upon request.

The Hope Center, 360 W Gate City Blvd: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, Saturday 7:30am-11:00am
Interactive Resource Center, 407 E Washington St: 8am-3pm Monday-Friday
The High Point shelters are active every night until notified otherwise.
