Ignite the flame for the second annual F.L.A.M.E. Week hosted by Turnbull Creek Educational State Forest in Elizabethtown, Feb. 5-10, 2024. This year’s event will feature six days of programming, both virtual and in-person, for landowners, educators, nature enthusiasts and the general public. The purpose of F.L.A.M.E. Week is to increase public awareness of the many facets of prescribed burning and wildfires, and how both good fire and bad fire affect North Carolina.

Wednesday, Feb. 7: Forest Health and Fire Workshop
Thursday, Feb. 8-9: Project Learning Tree – Nature of Fire Workshop
Friday, Feb. 9: Prescribed Fire – Burning for the Birds
Don't miss Friends and Family Day, Saturday, Feb. 10, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. This is a new addition to F.L.A.M.E Week and features an ecoEXPLORE program, a presentation on longleaf pine ecosystems, and a picnic and story time with Smokey Bear and Burner Bob! There will also be crafts, games and more.
