WHAT:
Pre-Game Ceremony to Honor E.E. Smith High School Student-Athletes Lost in a Tragic Car Accident
WHEN & WHERE:
Tuesday, October 14, 2025
5:30 - 6 p.m.
South View High School Football Field, 4184 Elk Road, Hope Mills, NC
WHY:
Through shared support and solidarity, this ceremony will honor the memory and impact Nicholas "Nick" Williams, Trevor Merritt, and Jai’hyon Elliott left on their school, the football field and the community at-large.
*MEDIA'S PARAMETERS FOR ATTENDANCE:

Arrival: Interested media are asked to arrive at the football field ticket booth by 5 p.m. for instructions and clearance.

Security: Credentialed media will pass through a weapons detection system.

Escort: A CCS Communications representative will escort all media to the sidelines for the Pre-Game Ceremony, which begins promptly at 5:30 p.m.

Interviews: E.E. Smith High School Principal Larry Parker will be available for interviews following the ceremony. Out of respect for the families and school staff in attendance, CCS will not be coordinating additional interviews at the event and will work to minimize distractions once the game begins.
