8 Key Things Families 'Need to Know' Before Heading Back to Cumberland County Schools
Fayetteville, NC – Cumberland County Schools (CCS) recently began welcoming students for the 2025-2026 school year with the return of year-round students on July 16. More students will return to CCS classrooms over the next few weeks, following this schedule:

Monday, August 11 – Cross Creek Early College High School and Cumberland International Early College High School

Thursday, August 14 – Cumberland Polytechnic High School

Monday, August 25 – Traditional Schools
As families 'gear up' for the new school year, CCS is spotlighting eight essential updates designed to enhance communication, promote student achievement and strengthen safety measures districtwide. These 8 Key 'Need to Know' updates are vital for a smooth and successful start to the school year:

Code of Conduct: Revised to support both academic and emotional well-being, the updated handbook outlines clear expectations and resources for students and families.

Language Support Line: Non-English-speaking families can receive multilingual assistance through a dedicated support line designed to make communication easier and more inclusive.

Safety/Security Initiative & More: CCS continues its commitment to safe learning environments with Weapons Detection Systems in place, Raptor Security, Say Something Anonymous Reporting System and more.

Student Information System – Infinite Campus: Infinite Campus offers families a more user-friendly platform to monitor grades, attendance and more.

Alongside Mental Health App: Middle and high school students will continue to have access to mental wellness tools and self-guided support through this free resource.

CCS' New Attendance Policy: This updated policy clarifies attendance expectations, outlines documentation procedures and reinforces the importance of being present every day to support student success.

School Bus Safety: A reminder that only authorized school personnel and students are permitted on school buses. Unauthorized individuals may face criminal charges for trespassing or impeding the operation of a school bus.

Family Engagement and Volunteer Opportunities: CCS remains committed to partnerships with families and community members through expanded volunteer pathways and school-based engagement efforts.
