Cumberland County Schools Releases Report from CommUNITY Chats with Superintendent
District releases detailed 40-page report based
on insights from over 2,500 participants
Fayetteville, NC – Cumberland County Schools (CCS) announces the release of a comprehensive report detailing feedback and responses from the Committed CommUNITY Chats held last fall with CCS Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr. More than 2,500 students, staff, families and community members participated, providing valuable insights and suggestions.
Over the past few months, district leaders have reviewed all feedback received. This input has been instrumental in guiding continuous improvement efforts, aligning with the district's strategic plan.
Key Highlights from the Report:

Elementary Schools: Strengths include the quality of staff and mutual respect among students and teachers. Concerns involve accessibility issues, facility upgrades and health services.

Middle Schools: Strengths include robust athletic programs and strong student support. Concerns focus on disciplinary practices, building maintenance and safety measures.

High Schools: Strengths include welcoming cultures and comprehensive college preparation support. Concerns center around staff turnover, the need for more classroom resources and infrastructure improvements.
"We don't take this feedback lightly. The insights from our stakeholders are invaluable and help us make informed decisions that reflect the needs and aspirations of our entire school community," said Dr. Connelly.
