CCS families are being invited to tune-in to an Alongside webinar titled "Panel Discussion: School Mental Health in the Age of AI." It takes place Wednesday, June 26 at 1 p.m. CCS' Executive Director of Student Services Dr. Natasha Scott will join four other panelists to discuss the pros and cons of integrating new technology into their overall MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) plan and the challenges and successes of meeting student mental health needs in the age of AI. NFL Player Presenting Local Family Fun Day Event
NFL Player Julian Hill and the Two-Six Project present the Fayetteville Community Family Fun Day event on Saturday, June 29 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Pine Forest High School. Area families are invited to attend and enjoy the music, games, food trucks, vendor booths and more. Julian will be autographing mini-footballs from 9 -10 a.m. Organizers will be giving away 200 free backpacks with supplies and lunches on a first-come, first-serve basis but the child must be present to receive one. The FAFSA Bus Is Coming! The Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) FAFSA Bus will be on hand to assist CCS Families with completing the FAFSA application for the 2024-2025 school year. On Tuesday, July 9 from 5 - 7 p.m., the FAFSA Bus will be at FTCC's Summerfest, which will be on campus at the Tony Rand Student Center. For more information, visit the CCS Website.
CCS Summer Meals
CCS Summer Meals Program runs through Thursday, August 1. Children 18 years and younger can enjoy free lunch and no registration or application are required. Check the CCS Child Nutrition website at cn.ccs.k12.nc.us for serving times and a list of locations throughout the county.
SUN Bucks Food Assistance Program
A new food assistance program has come to North Carolina this summer called SUN Bucks. Qualifying families get $120 in food benefits for each child from the new SUN Bucks program to buy healthy foods. Some families who automatically qualify need to take action now.
