South View High School (SVHS) recently celebrated a significant milestone: the retirement of Jeff Capel’s jersey. Capel, currently the head basketball coach at the University of Pittsburgh, is an esteemed SVHS alumnus who led the Tigers to a State Championship in 1993. His return to SVHS for this event underscored his lasting legacy and contributions to the school’s storied history.
School officials said the ceremony served as a fitting tribute to one of the school’s most accomplished athletes. And, it was a moment that united the South View community, celebrating past achievements while eagerly anticipating future successes.
