ABOUT ALONGSIDE: Cumberland County Schools is excited to introduce Alongside, a thoughtfully-designed digital support tool for students in grades 6-12. The innovative app, accessible on iOS, Android, and web browsers, prioritizes students' well-being and requires parental permission for access.
With Alongside, students have immediate access to mental health support through features such as an AI-powered chatbot, developed by doctoral clinicians, that guides them through basic exercises promoting resilience, positive social and emotional development, self-monitoring, journaling, or goal setting—all while ensuring privacy and security. Alongside serves as an exciting addition to existing resources, complementing the efforts of dedicated counselors, social workers, and psychologists to enhance student well-being.
