4th Graders' Science Project Sent to Space Set to be Unpacked, Observed TODAY
WHAT: 2023 STARward STEM Expo Design Challenge Winners look to unpack their Swiss Chard Project, which was onboard Space X-29 to the International Space Station, and conduct post-flight experiments
WHEN: Friday, February 2, 2024 1:30 - 2:15 p.m.

WHY: To learn more about space travel by conducting post-flight experiments on the Swiss Chard Project led by N.C. State University (NCSU) Plant and Microbial Biologist Aurora Toennisson

Background Info -- The 2023 STARward STEM Design Challenge Winners from W.H. Owen Elementary School traveled to Florida and visited NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Their project was sent to the ISS (International Space Station) on board Space X-29 which launched November 9, 2023. The science project returned to earth and was recently delivered to the school.

Interviews with the following individuals will be available: The Challenge Team Winners (three student scientists and their adviser), the school principal and the NCSU biologist.
