Recruiting Candidates for the Family Ambassador Program
In an effort to create opportunities for families to become engaged partners in their children's education, CCS is recruiting candidates at select schools for the Family Ambassadors Program. Those interested in helping families become more engaged in their child's educational success, promoting a positive and welcoming learning environment at school and meeting monthly with other families to learn more about what is happening in CCS, the Family Ambassador volunteer position may be an opportunity to help with student success. Volunteers can receive up to $150 monthly for completing certain family engagement tasks. To view the schools that have an available position and to complete an interest form, click here. According to the organizer of the effort, Principal Antoine McGill and School Social Worker Megan Hatem loved seeing the joy on the faces of the families as they visited J.W. Seabrook Elementary to pick up their items.

It's a teddy bear donation! Recently, Cumberland County Board of Education member Judy Musgrave donated hundreds of teddy bears to CCS. Each cuddly bear will be placed in the arms of students in need of comfort or emotional support and will be donated to several local agencies. Pictured above are (l-r) CCS' Social Work Services Coordinator Pamela Story, School Board Member Musgrave [seated] and CCS' Associate Superintendent of Student Support Services Dr. Melody Chalmers-McClain.
